Accompanist needed for Ember Choral

Ember Choral Society is looking for a talented and collaborative pianist to become our new accompanist.
We’re a friendly, non-auditioned choir of around 55 singers, led by Musical Director Paul Jeanes, with a reputation for high-quality music-making — and plenty of
fun!
• Weekly rehearsals: Wednesdays, 7.45–9.30pm
• Thames Ditton (15-minute walk from Thames Ditton Station)
• £100 per rehearsal (approximately 33 per year)
• Concert and additional performance opportunities available

We’re looking for someone with excellent collaborative piano and sight-reading skills, choral experience, musical flexibility and a good sense of humour.

AVON & SOMERSET Police Community Male Voice Choir
Music Director needed!
The Avon and Somerset Police Community Male Voice Choir are seeking a replacement for their Musical Director, who will be retiring after many years of accomplished service. Our choir has been established for over fifty years and is approximately forty-five strong and growing. The members comprise a blend of retired Police personnel and members of the public. We sing four-part harmony and our repertoire includes traditional folk songs, pop classics, spirituals, sacred music and songs from musical theatre.
We perform concerts throughout Somerset, South Gloucester, Bristol and Bath, approximately once a month, raising money for various charities. Our rehearsals take place on Monday evenings at the Police Headquarters in Portishead.
The post requires a person with a first-class knowledge of music and ideally some previous experience of leading a choir. Familiarity with the kind of music we sing would also be an asset, as would a willingness to introduce and teach new music to the choir, the majority of whose members do not read music. That person should have good keyboard skills, show leadership and the ability to communicate, have a stage presence and an outgoing personality. The aim will always be to rehearse and perform to a high standard for every concert. The holder of the post is self-employed and details will be revealed to applicants on enquiry.
Applicants will be invited to attend a rehearsal and lead the choir in a number of our pieces so that a mutual assessment may be made.

CONCORDIA
A new accompanist for Concordia Choir
Concordia Choir, Ashby de la Zouch
seek to appoint a new accompanist from January 2027
The successful applicant will ideally be an experienced choral accompanist, confident across a variety of genres, capable of both sight reading and playing from open score. Experience as an Organist would also be welcome as would the ability to, on rare occasions, deputise in a rehearsal for the Musical Director or to lead a sectional rehearsal.
Concordia is a welcoming, non-auditioned, 35-40 member SATB choir, founded in 2009. Tom Stanyard BA(Hons) LRSM has been Musical Director since 2021. During that time the choir has performed a wide variety of repertoire, ranging from Palestrina, Missa Brevis and Ola Gjeilo, Sunrise Mass to thematic programmes of shorter pieces from Byrd to Britten, Lassus to Lauridsen and Weelkes to Whitacre.
The choir typically give four concerts a year, occasionally with additional instrumentalists. The Christmas concert is shared with the Derby Central Salvation Army Brass Band.
Future plans include a tour to Gloucestershire and entry into the Cheltenham Festival of Performing Arts, an Opera Gala concert and Beethoven Mass in C.
The choir rehearses at Ashby-de-la-Zouch Methodist Church Hall on Monday evenings, 19:30 - 21:30. The rehearsal stipend begins at £75 with consideration for relevant qualifications and experience. The successful applicant will be engaged as a self-employed contractor.
